Easing of restrictions must be informed by wisdom from GMA and not power drunk NPP executives – NDC NYO tells Akufo-Addo

The National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. George Opare Addo has charged government to allow the Ghana Medical association to lead the way on the easing of restrictions on social gathering.

His call comes at the back of media reports that, the National organizer and General secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are calling on the government to ease restriction in order to allow them organize parliamentary and flagbearer elections.

Mr Opare Addo who was speaking in an interview on Accra base Dadi FM, charged the government to not allow power drunk politicking of the NPP inform its decision on easing restriction on social gathering.

He admonished government to place priority on the advise of the medical association and not internal political actors within the NPP whose parochial interest he says cannot be placed ahead of human lives and the general wellbeing of the Ghanaian public.

“The medical association and the experts should decide on the timelines on lifting the lockdown, they are the only ones with the required knowledge to tell us what to do and not the national organizer and NPP general secretary;” he says.

He called on Ghanaian youth to support the medical association in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
